Diethyl D(-)-tartrate is mainly used in chiral pharmaceuticals, chiral intermediates and chiral catalysts. It can be used with titanium in enolic asymmetric epoxidization. The compound d-alpha-tocopherol is the principal compound present in natural vitamin E sources
